Just in case you cannot read these billboards it says,
Audi: "Your move BMW"
BMW: "Checkmate"
Audi: "Your pawn is no match for our king"
BMW: "Game over"
Advertisements or ad's, you see them everywhere. You cannot avoid them unless you hid in a cave for the rest of your life. They're on billboards, T.V, New papers, Youtube, the internet, and your favorite social networking site. Not all advertisements are bad, I actually like watching or looking at them because they have become very entertaining. Like my example above they use humor and still advertise what they want to show. Commercials today also go as far as having a whole video about something very random, and at the last 5 seconds promote their product.
I love advertisements but there are a few out there that annoy me so much that I never want to see another ad in my entire life. One example of a commercial I dislike are the egregious sentimental ad's. Like the ad to the Above I love dogs and I wish that animal cruelty were stopped but, playing sad music like "In the arms of an angel by SarahMcLaughlin" while telling us that we should donate to unfortunate dogs and children in a third world country isn't very appealing to me. These are real issues and need to be addressed but, seeing the commercial 50 times a day really pushes me away and make me not want to donate to the cause. There are also the commercials that have nothing to do with the product. These are sometimes very entertaining like car commercials which i feel are never about the car anymore but still make me laugh in the end or make me so mad.
Overall I love commercials, They make me laugh, happy, sad, and maybe some times cry. I feel we need less ads and more content but they still entertain me in ways. I have even created and filmed a few commercials of my own. They emulate some of the commercials that I like. Of course I wont be showing them here because that would be embarrassing.
Starting my adventure at Y.U.B.A I first needed to plan my goals. Y.U.B.A is and yearlong training that prepares me to enter the corporate world. This requires you to stay focused and never forget your goals or you'll be left behind and dismiss yourself. To accomplish this i need to create three goals for me to follow.
My first goal is to pass "Business Communications". I must learn how to use proper grammar and professional verbal/writing skills. This way i won't be seen through my disguise when i start my corporate internship and eventually my job.
The second goal is to pass "Professional Skills" This goal is set so i can learn skills that will help me develop my habits and etiquette's in the work place. I will need to learn how to code switch which is how to act in front of my superiors and how to act in front of my friends and how to switch between the two.
My third and last goal is to pass "Technology". In Technology I have to learn all the hard skills to allow me to know what exactly I need to do in my internship so I am not clueless. I am training to become an IT so I need to learn the skills IT professionals need.
Learning Hard skills, Soft skills, and how to code switch are my big three goals in my classes. These three goals will help me become successful in the IT field and conquer any goal I set in my future.
